​​Software and Services Vendor Vetting Request

Auburn University has implemented an updated process for vetting vendors of software and technology related services provided to Auburn University as a requirement of the Software & Information Technology Services Approval Policy. During this process, a review by the Information Security Office, the Office of Accessibility, the Office of Cash Management, the Division of Institutional Compliance and Privacy Office, and the Office of Information Technology is performed. The purpose of this review is to obtain a better understanding of what information is being captured and/or accessed by outside vendors, provide our organization an opportunity to better protect Auburn University's data and to determine if an application or service meets technical standards necessary for accommodating individuals with disabilities including auditory, cognitive, neurological, physical, speech, and visual disabilities.

How do I know if the product I need has already been vetted?

Check the list of software titles with vendor/manufacturer name that have passed through the AU Vendor Vetting process and received an approval for a specific scope of use. NOTE: Just because the titles and manufacturers are listed, it doesn’t mean they have a blanket approval.

If the product I want to acquire is on the list, what do I need to do?

Send email to AU Vendor Vetting, vetting@auburn.edu, to determine the product has been approved for your use case. This message should include the intended use, the number of users in each category (employee, student, public), and any PII or PCI information that will be collected. If your request fits the approved scope, we’ll provide you with an authorization to acquire.

If the product I want to acquire is not on the list, what do I need to do?

Begin the review process by clicking on the “Submit A Request” button below to get started. Once this form has been submitted, the requester will receive an email from AU Vendor Vetting (vetting@auburn.edu) with additional information and instructions.

How can I follow up on the status of my request?

Come back to this page, login, then click “My Requests” above. You will be able to view the status of all requests submitted in your name.
